How many times must we endure listening to clueless people blame the poor for being victims of the economic policies of the rich?
They present it as if the playing field is level, and all poor people need to do is work harder and they can achieve the success that the wealthy enjoy. One of the most recent incidents was Gene Marks’ article on Forbes.com, aptly entitled, If I Was A Poor Black Kid. In the face of negative feedback about the article Forbes.com pulled the article. The piece, however, recently reemerged with the title corrected to If I Were A Poor Black Kid.
