Bar Owner Says: I Do Not Support the Nigger in the White House

racistracistPatrick Lanzo owns the Georgia Peach Oyster Bar in Draketown, Georgia. He’s come under fire for a sign he placed outside of his bar that reads, “I do not support the nigger in the White House.” Apparently, people are all up in arms because of his use of a racial slur in reference to the POTUS.

Well guess what? This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last time that someone posts a racially charged sign. Are we going to take our precious time to point out every instance of racist rhetoric? Surely, efforts can be directed toward more meaningful triumphs where race is concerned.

When a journalist asked Lanzo about the sign, here’s what he had to say:

In a phone interview, when Mr. Lanzo was asked about how his motivation for displaying such provocative signs, he responded: “I’ve been doing this for 26 years, it’s strictly free speech. If others get offended, I don’t care.” He was told that school buses regularly pass by his establishment and asked how he felt about children seeing his sign. Lanzo simply stated, “It’s not my responsibility to raise other people’s children. What’s any different than brainwashing them as Baptists, Methodists, or Catholics? The Baptists think the Methodists are the worst people in the world and the Methodists think the same about the Jehovah’s Witnesses, how’s my sign any different?” […]

The conversation with Mr. Lanzo then turned to the word “ni**er” and why he chose such a hurtful word for a very public sign. Lanzo responded, “I’ve done a tremendous business for twenty-six years and we do not expect everybody to be comfortable here. I’ve had black people come in here to have their picture taken, everybody is welcome. I’ve had white niggers I’ve thrown out faster than anybody.”

While we may not like all of Lanzo’s ideas, he made an excellent point about the brainwashing of children in our society. At the end of the day, it’s his private property, and he can post what he likes there. As such, we support his right to free speech despite our disagreement with his actual statement.

Biden Defends Obama’s Foreign Policy Record

Joe Biden Defends ObamaJoe Biden Defends ObamaThe Associated Press reports that Vice President Biden “has issued a strong defense” of President Obama’s foreign policy record. What do they mean he’s provided a strong defense? What defense could you have for dropping bombs on innocent people and bulldozing babies?

Biden delivered a campaign foreign policy speech Thursday at New York University.
The vice president said Obama had met the foreign policy challenges facing the United States in the 21st century, including ending the war in Iraq and ordering the mission that killed Osama bin Laden.

He said Romney’s foreign policy vision is stuck in the Cold War-era.

And theirs is not a cold war strategy–talking about Iran developing nuclear weapons? Sounds just like the cold war to us!

Brazilian Prostitute To Sue U.S. Embassy Over Alleged Injuries By Marines

romila-aparacida-ferreiraThe Colombian prostitute scandal has opened a floodgate of other claims of misconduct involving security forces. In the latest scandal brewing, a Brazilian sex worker plans to sue the U.S. Embassy for injuries she claims were inflicted by Marines:

Brasilia, Brazil (CNN) — A former prostitute plans to sue the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, alleging that members of its security team in December threw her from a van and ran over her, the woman’s attorney said.

Romila Aparacida Ferreira showed CNN photos of injuries she claimed she received in the incident.
“These are the tire marks,” she said about one photo. “They run down my side and across my abdomen.” Ferreira claimed she suffered a broken collarbone, three broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Not surprisingly, the Marines tell a different story, suggesting that Ferreira’s injuries occurred when she tried to reenter the vehicle from which they had made her exit. This occurred on the way back to the hotel where the paid sex was to occur. The involved Marines were removed from the country and reprimanded for their actions. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said, “They were reduced in rank and they were severely punished for that behavior. I have no tolerance for that kind of conduct, not here or any place in the world.”

Oh really, Mr. Panetta? You have no tolerance? That’s strange, because Marines and other “security” forces have committed similar and worse atrocities all around the world. They think that they are entitled to whatever they want to have. They raped children in Afghanistan, didn’t they? They abused and murdered people in Iraq and Afghanistan, didn’t they?

Please stop it already with this “isolated incident” BS.

In Case You Didn’t Know, Looks Like Netflix Is Tanking

Netflix-Sorting-CenterThis news that Netflix is in trouble comes as no surprise to us. Each day we have to search longer and longer to find movies that we want to watch. And when we finally do find something, it’s settling for second-best most of the time. The pool of titles seems to be shrinking and shrinking…

One of the positive outcomes of this is that we’ve discovered a treasure trove of excellent foreign films. If you haven’t checked out the available selection, you should!

As WebProNews reports, Netflix shares have plummeted despite the company adding 3 million subscribers during the first quarter. Growth is slowing, which is worrisome, but doubts about Netflix’s business model are also starting to creep up. The short story would be that Netflix is on its way out of the limelight.

As The Week reports, Netflix is not the only company that streams movies over the Internet. Further adding to Netflix’s problem is the fact content has to be licensed from studios that produce the TV shows and movies. And those studios will only continue to raise those fees as Netflix reports profits. Therefore, the once proud giant is stuck in the middle of raising subscription rates, which does not go over so well, or making less and less money.
