Today (7/13/2012), George Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’Mara, filed a motion to disqualify Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. O’Mara says that Zimmerman cannot receive a fair trial. According to Zimmerman’s legal team, “The Court chose language in its July 5, 2012 Order to describe the Defendant in ways that reflect the Court’s opinion of Mr. Zimmerman’s character as much as his conduct.”

O’Mara also asserts, “Further, the Court also denigrates Mr. Zimmerman’s voluntary statements to law enforcement, that he surrendered twice to law enforcement when requested and his willingness to take all tests offered, including the taking of a CVSA. Seemingly, this Court believes those actions to be disingenuous, self-serving manipulations as well. The Court makes sweeping generalizations about Mr. Zimmerman based on limited information and disregards the evidence that contradicts those conclusions.”

The true reason Mark O’Mara filed this motion was over Witness 9 in this case, furthermore an additional 145 calls between Shellie Zimmerman and her husband after his initial arrest.  Witness 9′s anonymous call to Sanford Police paints Zimmerman, and the Zimmerman family, as racist and having hostilities toward Blacks.  The call was recorded by Investigator Trekelle Perkins.

On 7/12/2012, Judge Lester ordered that Witness 9′s additional statement and the additional jailhouse calls be released.  Lester wrote that the evidence must be released as required by public records law.

Last Month, after Shellie Zimmerman, was charged with perjury for lying to the exact court O’Mara is claiming to be biased against his client, a few calls between the two were released by the State that expose the couple as lying manipulators.  George and Shellie Zimmerman can be heard plotting to pull a fast one–from claiming to be broke despite having over $100,000 to reliquishing the invalid passport to the court.

So, Attorney Mark O’Mara’s beef is that the Court’s decisions are not tipped in favor of his client.  He wants a judge that will not allow the release of evidence that will allow the public to see more into the lies and manipulation of George Zimmer.  Thus, O’Mara feels Lester’s gotta go!

After Judge Lester granted bond last week, we performed an in-depth analysis of his ruling along with commentary related to Zimmerman’s apparent attempted trickery in this case. Interestingly, O’Mara’s assessment of the situation, along with reasons he uses to support his motion, seems strikingly similar to some of the rationale we used in our analysis of the situation.

At the end of the day, Zimmerman is in this situation because he and his wife lied about their finances. If he hadn’t lied, the bond would never have been revoked in the first place. Furthermore, had he not killed an unarmed 17-year-old child, none of this would be happening.

O’Mara is trying to delay this trial as much as possible with this latest motion. He claims that Zimmerman fears that he cannot receive a fair trial because statements within Judge Lester’s bond order reveal that he is not an impartial judge. What we see now is Zimmerman’s continued projection of his own paranoia onto everyone else within this case.
