Should An Admitted Rapist Receive Visitation With Child That Resulted From Rape?

rape

Suppose a rapist fathered a child during the rape, and was ordered to pay child support in addition to the terms of his conviction. A case like this is happening right now, but with a bit of a twist. A then 20-year-old man who raped a 14-year-old girl–he claims it was consensual intercourse–is now seeking visitation with the child that resulted from the rape:

An admitted Massachusetts rapist is seeking visitation rights to the child he fathered after raping his underage victim, setting the stage for a precedent-setting legal fight in the Bay State.

The victim and her family are fighting back, saying the rapist is only showing interest in the family now that the child support bill is coming due.

So what do you think? Should a rapist be granted visitation with the child he fathered during a rape? Does paying child support entitle him to visitation under these circumstances?
