Citizens from at least 20 states have now signed petitions for their state to secede from the United States following the reelection of President Barack Obama.

Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina,Tennessee, and Texas are among the states with petitions to secede.

You can check out the petitions yourself at the White House website. The petition for Texas has over 18K signatures, and is getting closer to the goal of 25K required signatures for a response from the Obama Administration.

So what do you think? Is this all a waste of time, or is it something we should be paying serious attention to?

White House Process For Handling Petitions:
Once the petition reaches the required threshold, it will be put in a queue to be reviewed by the White House. Others can still sign the petition while it is awaiting a response from the White House. When the White House responds, everyone who has signed the petition will get email from the White House to let you know that we’ve reviewed and responded to the petition.
