I actually find this quite funny. The message is pretty clear. Barack Obama is truly ‘half black, half white.’ You will not find me questioning the truth in that statement.
“Almost everything it does stinks.” Well, I can agree with that, but it may be for different reasons than that of the Patriot Freedom Alliance.
I find it very uneasing when I find myself agreeing with people whose ideologies and agendas are in stark contrast with my own, but some people really do need to chill when it comes to marking everything as racist or racism. It may be a fact, under this shroud, the Tea Party group was actually delivering a racist message, but it is truly possible to step back and view the message outside of that context.
If the NAACP actually cared or had the will to eraticate problems of Blacks or African-Americans, they would take steps back and view Obama for what he does and not the way he appears. Also, if they spent more time fighting to change major issues–not seeking out little groups with a little leaftlet to fight–more progress would be made. Defending a colored person who seeks and destroys the lives of colored people around the world is not a battle worth gearing up for.
“The skunk has replaced the eagle as the new symbol for the president. ”The president definitely doesn’t fly high, especially when it comes to the fight against poverty and racism.
‘Half black, half white and almost everything it does stinks’: Racism row erupts as Tea Party calls Barack Obama a skunk
An ultra-conservative ‘Tea Party’ group has defended its depiction of President Barack Obama as a skunk as satirical – after it was accused of being racist.
The caption above it read: ‘The skunk has replaced the eagle as the new symbol for the president. It is half black, it is half white, and almost everything it does, stinks.’
Area president of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) Darrell Pope called the depiction a ‘blatant statement of racism’.
‘You would think that an organisation that claims to be about patriotism and what this country is supposed to stand for would have a better way of expressing it than what they’re doing.’
